How To Create a Recovery USB for Your M-Tech Laptop


This page explains how to create one USB drive that can restore Windows and restore a full system image. This is the only USB you need for emergency recovery.

What This USB Can Do

  • Restore your entire computer from a system image
  • Reinstall Windows if the operating system is damaged
  • Repair startup problems
  • Fix update issues
  • Help recover from corruption or software conflicts

What You Need

  • A USB flash drive with 16GB or more
  • Your M-Tech laptop
  • About 10 to 20 minutes

Step 1: Open the Recovery Drive Tool

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Type Recovery Drive.
  3. Click Create a recovery drive.
  4. If Windows asks for permission, click Yes.

Step 2: Turn On System File Backup

You will see a checkbox that says:

Back up system files to the recovery drive

Make sure this box is checked. This allows the USB to reinstall Windows and restore a system image.

Step 3: Insert Your USB Drive

Plug in your USB flash drive. Windows will detect it. Select the USB drive and click Next.

Step 4: Create the Recovery Drive

Click Create. Windows will format the USB and copy the recovery tools. When it finishes, click Finish.

Step 5: Store the USB Safely

Keep the USB in your laptop bag or with your realtime equipment. This USB is your emergency tool if your system cannot start.

How To Use the Recovery USB

  1. Insert the Recovery USB.
  2. Turn on the laptop.
  3. Press F7 repeatedly to open the Boot Menu.
  4. Select your USB drive.
  5. Choose Troubleshoot.
  6. Select one of the following:
  • System Image Recovery
  • Recover from a drive
  • Startup Repair

This USB gives you everything you need to get back to work quickly.
