Step 1 - Activate Windows

Your laptop includes a genuine Windows license. Locate the Windows product key sticker on the bottom of your laptop.

• Open Settings
• Select System
• Select Activation
• Enter the product key from the sticker

Step 2 - Unlink OneDrive

This is the most important step for performance, especially for court reporters and anyone using real-time dictation software.

• Right-click the OneDrive cloud icon
• Select Settings
• Choose Unlink this PC
• Turn off Known Folder Backup
• Close OneDrive and prevent it from starting automatically

Step 3 - Install Updates and Essential Programs

Before your optimization session:

• Run Windows Update repeatedly until no more updates are available
• Install only the programs you need
• Students: follow your instructor's software list
• Avoid installing unnecessary software before optimization

Step 4 - Schedule Your Complimentary Optimization Session
